About Our Team
The Sheely Chiropractic Health and Wellness is a modern health care facility that specializes in providing treatment for chronic and difficult conditions of the neuro - musculo - skeletal system. The Clinic provides current "managed care model' type case management for all conditions treated in the clinic. Statistics of the effectiveness of patient outcomes are constantly monitored with objective testing.
Patients are treated using modern equipment and techniques, including cryotherapy, hydrocollator therapy, electrical muscle stimulation therapy, interferrential therapy, russian stimulation, ultrasound therapy, motorized intersegmental mobilization and distraction therapy, muscle rehabilitation with exercise education instructions, and specific skilled manipulation (adjustments) of the spine and joints of the body. Nutritional and lifestyle and weight loss programs using the ChiroThin system is provided considering individual goals and needs. Patients are cared for by trained, efficient, and qualified staff, who are both friendly and professional.
Bearnice Jean Spencer ("Jean")
Position: Front Desk - (Patient Scheduling and Medical Records)
Jean has been a dedicated member of the Sheely Chiropractic - Middletown Spine and Injury team for the past 2.5 years, bringing a wealth of experience and commitment to patient care. With a career spanning several decades in various healthcare settings, Jean has developed a deep understanding of patient needs and the operations of medical facilities.

Sycamore Primary Care, with Kettering Health (October 2010 - May 2019):
Jean worked as a Register/Scheduler in the phone room, where she played a critical role in managing patient appointments and communications. Initially hired in Medical Records during the transition to electronic systems, Jean quickly adapted and excelled, contributing to the smooth functioning of the practice until her retirement in 2019. -
Barbara Park Nursing Home (1977 - 1982):
Jean served as a Nurse’s Aide, providing essential care such as feeding, bathing, and personal assistance to patients in need. Her dedication to patient well-being was evident in her compassionate approach. During her time there, Jean also contributed to the cleanliness and comfort of the facility by working in Housekeeping, ensuring patient rooms and dining areas were well-maintained. -
Garden Manor Nursing Home (1972 - 1977):
Jean began her career in healthcare as a Nurse’s Aide, where she gained invaluable experience in direct patient care. She was responsible for assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity were maintained at all times.
Karen McIntosh
Position: Billing Specialist
Karen has been a valued member of the Sheely Chiropractic - Middletown Spine and Injury team for over 3 years, bringing an impressive 34 years of experience in medical billing, primarily within the chiropractic field. Born and raised in Ohio, Karen has dedicated her career to ensuring patients have a smooth and clear understanding of their insurance coverage.

Reed Chiropractic, Middletown, Ohio (1990-1995): Karen managed the office, overseeing front desk operations, patient therapies, and insurance collections, ensuring the practice ran smoothly and efficiently.

Spartonville Regional Hospital (2019-2021): She specialized in prior authorizations for lab and diagnostic testing, navigating complex insurance protocols to secure approvals for patients.

Everybody’s Health Chiropractic (2016-2019): Karen handled billing duties, utilizing her deep knowledge of insurance processes to streamline claims and collections.

The Dermatology Group, Mason, Ohio: Karen worked for two years in billing and office management, further broadening her expertise across various medical specialties.
Earlier in her career, Karen gained valuable experience in office management and front desk operations in a variety of healthcare environments, which laid the foundation for her exceptional organizational skills and patient-first mindset.
Karen’s wealth of experience and dedication to patient care make her an essential part of the Sheely Chiropractic team, ensuring that every patient receives clear, detailed guidance regarding their insurance and billing needs.
Cheryl has been teaching Slow Flow Yoga at Sheely Chiropractic for 3 years, working with people who have trauma and pain bringing them back to being active. Born and raised in Ohio and she has 1 daughter and 7 grandchildren. Cheryl’s path to yoga was from personal trauma and it changed her life. She needed to know more and became a yoga Certified teacher. She has also done Yoga in the Park for the Summer City Program and will do 1:1 appointment to build a program to help you. She has been a Nurse for 40 years and recently retired from nursing but not Life!
