Hi…My name is Cathy Barnhill and I work at Sheely Chiropractic Clinic. I have worked here since January 2001. During that time, I have become involved in the accounting and management of the office and have worked with various software programs. I enjoy working on the computer and learning new things. One of the new things I have learned while working at the office is Microsoft Access. I took an instruction course in Access and really liked it. From there, I developed an Access program for our office which I called Complete Office Manager. This has helped all of our staff to be able to be more organized and productive in their work. From what I learned in Access, I went on to learn Visual Basic. This is a more in-depth computer programming software and it has allowed me to begin to develop "stand alone" programs. Developing distributable programs has been a strong desire since learning Access. So, now with this new knowledge, I have developed my first "stand alone" program called Presto Checks. Presto Checks does not rely on another program (such as Access) in order to be able to be installed and run on other computers and so it can easily be distributed to anyone who has a computer and wants to run the program. I am quickly becoming a Visual Basic "junkie" and am excited that with these new computer skills I will be able to develop any program that I need. Presto Checks is my first "baby"…but there are many more to come.
